Hey - this is gyptazy!
I'm gyptazy (pronounced ɡʏpˈteɪziː) – an enthusiastic and deeply passionate DevOps engineer and software developer. My work revolves around bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, with a strong focus on optimizing and streamlining the entire software development lifecycle. I am dedicated to automating processes wherever possible, ensuring that applications are deployed and operated reliably, efficiently, and securely across both cloud-based and on-premise environments. Contributing to open-source software (OSS) and actively developing solutions is a central part of my professional and personal life.
Passion
I am heavily involved in the FreeBSD ecosystem, constantly exploring and contributing to its tools and projects. Equally, I am deeply embedded in the Proxmox ecosystem, where my work is centered on automation and improving operational efficiency. I have developed and contributed numerous Proxmox modules, many of which have been accepted upstream, helping to extend and enhance the platform for the community. Ansible and other configuration management tools are an integral part of my daily workflow, and whenever I encounter gaps in automation, I enjoy creating custom solutions using Python, Go, Rust, and occasionally C.
Own Solutions
When I say “own solutions,” I mean it quite literally. This blog itself runs on a platform I built called manpageblog. It’s fully open source, actively maintained, and even available via FreeBSD FreshPorts and packages. Beyond that, this website is proud to be a part of the 1MB club, a curated collection of small, highly efficient, and practical websites that demonstrate that great solutions don’t have to be large or bloated.
