PegaProx is coming to ProxDay 2026! On October 15, 2026, the Proxmox community will meet at ProxDay in Mönchengladbach, Germany, and this year you will have the opportunity to meet members of the PegaProx team in person and learn more about multi-cluster management for Proxmox VE.

I will be attending ProxDay together with Nico Schmidt, and we are looking forward to meeting other Proxmox administrators, developers, infrastructure engineers and open source enthusiasts who are interested in managing larger and more complex virtualization environments.

ProxDay 2026(powered by credativ GmbH) takes place on October 15, 2026, at Hotel Palace St. George in Mönchengladbach. The event focuses on practical Proxmox VE experience, virtualization, open source and community-driven exchange.

PegaProx: Multi-Cluster Management for Proxmox VE

Managing a single Proxmox VE cluster is usually straightforward. Things become considerably more complicated when an environment grows to multiple clusters, locations or even different virtualization platforms.

This is where PegaProx comes in. PegaProx is an open source datacenter management platform designed to provide a centralized management interface for multiple Proxmox VE and XCP-ng environments.

Instead of switching between different cluster interfaces, administrators can manage their infrastructure from a single platform. PegaProx brings together cluster and VM management, monitoring, migrations, load balancing, backup-related functionality, security features and other operational tasks.

The project has evolved considerably and now provides features such as multi-cluster management, cross-cluster migrations, workload balancing, high availability, backup verification, security and compliance functionality, centralized authentication and granular access control.

For larger Proxmox VE environments, this centralized approach can significantly reduce operational complexity and make it easier to maintain consistent policies across multiple clusters.

Meet the PegaProx Team at ProxDay

If you are interested in PegaProx, Proxmox VE multi-cluster management or the future of open source virtualization management, ProxDay 2026 is a great opportunity to meet us in person.

Nico and I will be around during the event, so feel free to come over, say hello and have a chat with us about PegaProx, Proxmox VE, automation, cluster management or anything else related to virtualization.

We are particularly interested in hearing how other administrators are managing multiple Proxmox VE clusters today, which problems they encounter and which features they would like to see in a centralized management platform.

PegaProx Talk at ProxDay 2026

There is also a dedicated PegaProx talk at ProxDay 2026. Nico Schmidt will present "PegaProx – Multi-Cluster Management für Proxmox VE".

The talk will look at the challenges that arise when operating more than one Proxmox VE cluster and how PegaProx approaches them. Topics include multi-cluster management, workload balancing, security hardening, compliance, backup verification, cost tracking and infrastructure management.

The presentation will also cover some of the technical challenges we encountered while developing PegaProx and how we approached them. This includes topics such as cross-cluster migrations, audit logging, security and managing increasingly complex Proxmox environments.

The current ProxDay program lists Nico's PegaProx session as a 45-minute talk. The event will also feature talks covering topics such as HA and DRS, NetApp ONTAP integration, Ceph, geo-redundant virtualization and Kubernetes on Proxmox VE.

From FOSDEM to ProxDay

ProxDay is not the first time PegaProx got presented to the open source and virtualization community. Earlier this year, I also had the opportunity to talk about PegaProx and Proxmox VE at FrOSCon 2026.

FrOSCon was a great opportunity to discuss the ideas behind PegaProx, multi-cluster management and the challenges of operating larger Proxmox VE environments with people from the wider open source community.

Since then, PegaProx has continued to evolve significantly. The project has grown from a centralized management interface into a much broader datacenter management platform with features designed for real-world Proxmox VE operations.

You can also read my previous article about PegaProx, where I go into more detail about the project, its architecture and features or watch the recording of my talk from the FrOSCon:

Why Multi-Cluster Management Matters

As Proxmox VE adoption grows, it is increasingly common to operate more than one cluster. Organizations may have separate clusters for production, development and testing, different locations, dedicated infrastructure for customers or completely independent environments.

Managing every cluster individually can quickly become inefficient. Monitoring resource utilization, moving workloads, keeping systems patched, enforcing security policies and maintaining consistent configurations all become more difficult as the number of clusters increases.

A centralized Proxmox multi-cluster management platform can help solve exactly these problems. Instead of treating every cluster as an isolated environment, PegaProx provides a global view of the infrastructure and enables administrators to manage multiple environments from one place.

This becomes particularly interesting when combined with automation. Workload balancing, migrations, backup verification, security checks and operational policies can be handled at a higher level instead of requiring administrators to manually repeat the same tasks across every cluster.

Open Source Proxmox Management

One of the aspects I particularly like about PegaProx is its open source approach. The project is available under the AGPL-3.0 license and is developed together with the open source community.

The source code is publicly available on GitHub, making it possible to inspect the implementation, report issues, contribute improvements and follow the development of the project.

See You at ProxDay 2026!

If you are attending ProxDay 2026 in Mönchengladbach, make sure to stop by and say hello. Whether you are already using PegaProx, are considering centralized management for multiple Proxmox VE clusters or simply want to discuss virtualization and open source, we would be happy to talk.

Come and meet Nico Schmidt and me (Florian Paul Azim Hoberg @gyptazy), join Nico's talk about PegaProx and multi-cluster management, and let's discuss what the next generation of Proxmox VE management could look like.

See you at ProxDay 2026!
