Hey Fediverse… please be careful out there. I’ve been seeing way too many people getting targeted lately, and it honestly hurts to watch.

Social engineering scams
If someone randomly DMs you offering “commissions,” don’t trust it. They’ll act friendly, ask about your avatar or artwork, then try to get money out of you. Once you pay, they disappear or send stolen/AI stuff.
Real artists don’t usually approach people like this. Stick to people with real portfolios and trusted reputations.

Phishing links
Be careful with links from people you don’t trust. Some are made to look legit but aren’t like slightly altered URLs or links that look safe but send you somewhere else.

If something feels off, trust that feeling. Don’t click, don’t send money, and don’t engage.
