Lustige Erkenntnis nach zwei Jahren Fediverse: Ich scrolle weniger, lese mehr, und meine Timeline besteht nicht aus dem, was ein Algorithmus für mich emotional aufpeitschend findet, sondern aus Menschen, denen ich tatsächlich folgen wollte. Verrückte Idee eigentlich. 🐘

Dazu kommt: Wenn mir eine Instanz nicht passt, ziehe ich um – mit Followern im Gepäck. Versuch das mal woanders.

Das #fediverse rockt ziemlich!

Vor einigen Tagen hier gelesen, das jemand sein Pixel 8 Pro mit GrapheneOS verkauft. Auf Nachfrage lag der Preis sogar unter dem aktuellen Marktwert.

Und dann schickt mir eine fremde Person einfach das Ding zur Ansicht zu. Ich habe also alles gescheckt, für gut befunden und das Geld überwiesen.

Das ist das Internet, das ich von früher kenne!

Mastodon - bin unter Linux von Hyperspace auf Tokodon gewechselt und bisher sehr zufrieden. Benachrichtigungen / Erwähnungen sind besser gelöst, und die Suche funktioniert besser.

Leider wurde auf mastodon.social die globale timeline deaktiviert. Das finde ich etwas unglücklich. Um daran trotzdem "teilnehmen" zu können, habe ich auf nrw.social einen weiteren Account eingerichtet. Freiheit durch Optionen 😀

Ich bin gerade auf dem Weg nach Frankfurt zum Canonical Day, und ehrlich gesagt freue ich mich richtig darauf.
Ja, ich kenne die Snap-Debatte.
Aber Canonical gehört für mich zu den wenigen Akteuren, die das Versprechen von Open Source im Enterprise-Maßstab tatsächlich einlösen, statt nur Folien darüber zu produzieren. Genau das will ich mir aus der Nähe ansehen.

Auf der Agenda stehen Virtualisierungsalternativen, Ubuntu Pro und Kubernetes. Im Homelab dieselben Fragen wie im Rechenzentrum, nur mit kleinerem Stromzähler. Ein richtig guter Tag also.

Falls jemand aus dem Fediverse ebenfalls vor Ort ist: meldet euch unbedingt. Ich nehme mir den Tag bewusst für gute Gespräche.

Das waere gemeinwohl-orientiert und ihr schafft damit einen digitalen Raum als Alternative zu kommerziellen Plattformen.
