You can think what you want about Apple, its business model, and its crazy pricing policy and rip-offs—I'm definitely not a fan either—but one thing fascinates me: since November, I've had an iPad Mini 7 Cellular so I can read the news, watch the occasional YouTube video, or quickly and conveniently reply to an email while on the go or in bed at night.

Very compact, very practical, it fits perfectly in my small shoulder bag or in my smartphone holder next to my bed.

But what impresses me most is the incredible battery life! With my moderate use, the battery actually lasts a whole week. Remarkable. As are the performance, the pen support (great for editing and signing documents!) and the rather unique form factor. And that also eases my conscience a little, knowing that there is no free alternative. Unfortunately.

My question is, does anyone know of any software or solutions for this? It doesn't have to be open source, but it would be best if it were. The option to encrypt the backups is not essential, but would be preferable.

Some regressions slipped into Rocinante recently and broke some template functions. These have been fixed now in GitHub.

#Zig moved to it. LibreWolf is using it. Many #Fediverse projects use it including the FEP process. #Fedora set up their own Forgejo instance (the underlying software for Codeberg).

Now #Gentoo is switching from GitHub to Codeberg!

I've migrated most of my projects there as well.

Every one of these stories is a win for #OpenSource and a middle finger to #Microslop, which is a win-win all around. 😊

Has anyone got a lead on syncing #Gnome Calendar with #iCal? Ideally, I want to make edits from within Gnome.

The reason is a) I'm on an iphone for the foreseeable future, and b) so is my entire family, and it's how we organize the household.

I'm aware of this video, but I couldn't make it work, and there are comments on it that others can't either. It seems like that solution doesn't work any more.
