If someone is asking for help with using this place, could you let them know about my account, and also let them know about my website? I'm totally unofficial so people only find out about me by worth of mouth 🙂

I have a website full of easy-to-understand guides for using Mastodon and the wider Fediverse at:

➡️ fedi.tips

The section at the top of the site marked "Quick Start" is especially designed for new people who want to find out the basics.

Thanks! 🙏

Servers described as "Glitch Mastodon" or "Hometown Mastodon" work just like Mastodon but have additional features such as larger post sizes, rich text formatting or local-only posts.

Mastodon's server software is free and open source, so programmers can tweak it to make their own versions. (Untweaked Mastodon is often called "Vanilla Mastodon".)

You can find good Glitch and Hometown servers to join or move to at:

Can someone please help me block on Mastodon? And not simply block the hashtag only, but all posts related to US politic generally? I'm fucking over it.

is the community-owned Fediverse alternative to YouTube.

You can help PeerTube grow by going to fedi.video and watching some videos, this lets the video makers know they have an audience 🙂

Even better, you can follow video makers from Mastodon:

        1. Click the video maker's name on Fedi.Video to go to their profile page
        2. Click on ⧉ on the profile page
        3. Paste into the search box in Mastodon, then click follow

This lets video makers know they have followers.

Screenshot of a PeerTube video maker's channel page viewed through a PeerTube website. The ⧉ icon has been highlighted and there is a caption below it saying "Click on the ⧉ and then paste it into search box in Mastodon etc to follow".
