      It's been 25 years since I first ran my own server, and I'm still embarrassed by how bad I am at it as a wannabe DBA, systems administrator, and developer. I never managed Oracle databases, but I can't really think of any other technology that felt so foreign and opaque, except maybe the tall stick shift in a VW Bus.
