I've cleaned up my Raspberry Pi selfhosting setup a bit. I'm using two, each in an Argon ONE V5 case with a 1TB NVME drive, running Raspberry Pi OS.

'one' is serving Nextcloud All-in-one, Immich and Vaultwarden via a Caddy reverse-proxy. All using Docker containers, Caddy as a custom build with my domain DNS provider added.

'two' is used as remote borg backup destination for 'one', and later a few monitoring tools.

All three sites are using a wildcard certificate for my domain, and I connect via WireGuard (on the router) when away from home.

Path of least resistance:

I've tried Podman, AlmaLinux, and running a manual install of Nextcloud on Ubuntu. This setup follows recommended installations methods, and gives me fewer things to worry about.

Heute endlich mal Zeit gehabt ein wenig mit #HomeAssistant rumzuspielen.
Es läuft bei mir noch im Docker Container meines #RaspberryPi. Einschräkung dadurch ist, dass ich keine Apps im Homeassistant installieren kann. Dazu muss das System als OS laufen. Auch musste ich z.B. meinen MQTT Broker selber von Hand eirichten.
Zum Spielen und einen ersten Eindruck bekommen im Vergleich zu #ioBroker reicht es aber aus.

Der 1. Eindruck ist sehr gut. Ich habe schnell einfache Ergebnisse erzielt. Mein SONOS-System war out of the box zu erreichen. Räume wurden sinnvoll vorgegeben. Fritzbox mit eingebunden. Den Raspberry auf dem HA läuft mit eingebunden. QNAP eingebunden. Drucker eingebunden. Das war alles kein Aufriss.
Zwei Dashboards erzeugt. Eines für Multimedia und eines mit den zu überwachenden Werten der Technik. War easy.
Meine beiden TasmotaStecker einbinden: 0 Problem. Und schon mit Ein- und Auschaltzeiten automatisiert

Ich habe mal wieder angefangen mich ein wenig mit #SmartHome zu beschäftigen. Ich hatte hier ja schonmal #ioBroker auf einem #RaspberryPi laufen. Bis die SD Karte geschreddert wurde. Jetzt überlege ich einen Neustart. Aber was nehme ich? Bleibe ich bei ioBroker, weil ich es schon kenne? Aber dieses Mal dann in einen Docker Container. Mein 4er Pi hat noch genug Kapazität und läuft mit externer SSD.
Alternative wäre #HomeAssistent. Ist wohl einfacher zu konfigurieren. Es gibt deutlich mehr grafische Konfigurationsoberflächen. Man landet nicht so schnell bei #Yaml wie beim ioBroker. Aber frisst auch mehr Ressourcen. Empfehlung ist hier ganz klar HAssOS (unglückliche Namensgebung) zu nutzen. Dann läuft auf dem Raspberry nix anderes außer HomeAssistent. Aber andererseits ist die Community wesentlich größer. Auch die Unterstützung von Komponenten soll besser sein. #EspHome ist, so wie ich es einschätze, auch besser integriert. Und das ist für mich interessant.
